I have a 99 in 300 savage,I beleive it's an eg 1951.It has 2 small screws right behind where the cocking pin comes up.Are these part of the action or are they for a scope mount? They are small some where around #6 or#8 machine screws. If they are for a scope would the be factory d+t?Also there are sling swivels but as far as I know savage never put them on the 99's.This rifle is in pretty nice shape and shoots really well,I would just like to know if Bubba has been at work here.I can post some pics later on tonight if it will help.

These factory drilled holes are to accomodate a "Tang Sight or a scope mount designed specifically for the 99.
