In the process of getting a 270 WSM in a Tikka and was wondering if anyone that has reloaded for this calibre would share some of there load information.
I will be using 130 gr and 140 gr. bullets , right now will be using H 4831, H 4350, RX 22 AND imr 7858 , powders. Thats what I have right now but I am open to suggestions .
Thanks

RL 17 gives top velocities and very good accuracy.

H4831sc and the 140 Accubond have been wonderful components for me!

I'm loading Nosler AB's and Barnes TSX'es in 140 gr. wgt., with MagPro powder.
In my rifle, 70.0 gr. gives 3200 fps mv for the TSX, 3150 for the AB bullet. Accuracy for both is excellent.
Neither load appears to be anywhere near max. in this rifle, and I intend to up the grn. weight of Magpro in the next few days to try to wring a little more mv out of the AB.

Have used RL22 in the past, but have gotten better results with MagPro. RL22 is just too touchy at near-max velocities to suit me, in the 270 WSM.

Mine shoots Nosler 130gr with 59.7 gr of H4350. Its not the fastest but with a four shot group in the .4's I don't care.

Every 270 i have reloaded for shoots hornaday's 140 spbt really well. Doesn't matter if it's regular or wsm. I shoot 4831 because i have a bunch of ww2 surplus powder i bought cheap. I have tried a lot of barnes bullets, no luck untill the 130 ttsx. They also shoot great with 4831. The 110's weren't bad. I tried magpro, scary stuff,,,, starter loads were way to hot for my rifle. These are not exactly an example of one but may be peculiar to these bullets and powder.

YMMV Fred

69.5grns MagPro behind 130 TTSX gets me MOA. That load (from Barnes Load Manual) is pretty low in the spectrum but please workup using your Tikka. Start out with a .030 jump.
