I was walking through the local Big R and they had 257 wby 100 gr spitzer on sale for $22/box so I bought 4 boxes(can always use the brass)
Has anyone used these on game and how do they hold up?
Thanks

At around 3,500 to 3,700 fps even a 100 grain lugnut will kills things. Go forth and kill. That was a steal of a price. Even bare brass should sell for more than that.

My hunting buddy uses a 257 Wby. with the 100 grain Hornady Interlock, factory and my handloaded version. We don't know how the bullets hold up, never having found one. But the deer he's shot died "right now" style.

You got a nice deal.

Those are not Hornady Interlocks if they say "Spitzer" vice SP or Spire Point. They are loaded by Norma with their own proprietary pill. Still, at 22/box it is a great deal. Just watch the shot placement and short range.

BareBackJack - see Jorge's post on this ammo. He's right on...shoot up the ammo, get reloadable brass, for basically the cost of brass alone. What's not to like? Homesteader

Wish I would have stumbled on a deal like that... I paid something just over $30 a box for that load.

I think those ARE Hornaday bullets in there. Should be great on broadside ribcage shots on deer and antelope. Shoot 'em up but as was mentioned, be carful about shot placement a bit more with those. No Texas heart shots.

NOPE. If they say SPITZER they are most definitively NOT Hornadys.
