As an active duty Marine this post tile makes me sick. I personally do not agree with this new law. I'm sure that there are some that do. However, to say that the Corps is eagerly out recruiting like this...uh I don't think so. If so, I would like to think it is an isolated few. We are actively engaged in combat throughout multiple countries and don't have time for this crap. I hope I am wrong but don't believe everything you read on the internet. Again, I don't agree with this but what the hell do you do. Get out, retire? Who else is going to go to Iraq and Afghanistan and other places to fight for this Country? Don't blame the Marine Corps, blame your elected officials.

How would you feel if that person held your life in their hands???

Some of those slackers were busy working and paying taxes so soldiers could get paid. And like any employer, his employee is an extension of himself. Whatever an employee does reflects on his employer. Whether it reflects well or poorly, it reflects. We're all in this together.

Not every American seeks a career in the military. It doesn't make him any less an American nor give him any less voice in American procedures, practices or politics. Again, we're all in this together.

for the record, there ARE ways a military vet can hold himself aloof from the mere civilians, but this isn't one of them.

I laughed out loud when I read what 340boy said. Some folks are just too touchy. Head bobbing Hitler was a homo. No one would be bitching or whining if someone suggested he had been tossed overboard.

I had a friend in the Army who was a flaming gay. He was a good soldier, served honorably and lived a useful life. I am not gay, he never came on to me and I am glad to have known and served with him.
