Yes, I think it was 28 inches for the Russian contract muskets. I've never owned one - in fact, this is the only '95 musket I have owned. I want my next M1895 musket to be a Savage

How many different calibers were offered in the M1895? I
saw one in .38-72 once and it was in terrible condition,
mostly 30-06 and 30-40 Krag.

Steve, Heres a picture of one of my winchester 1895's, a deluxe model in 405 caliber,it letters with the pad. I have 3 other 1895s but this the only one i have a picture of the others are another 405, a saddle ring carbine in 30-06 , and a 38-72. Don - that is an absolutely fabulous .405. What a hunting machine too I love the factory pad. The only .405 I had was a takedown but it had a cresent butt
