I recently got a rifle that has the bore treated with Ultra Bore Coat.
My question is will Breakfree CLP(use a lot of it and love it)hurt the coating in the barrel ?

As long as the gun was fired to center and set the coating CLP will have no effect.

Craig,

Dyna Bore Coat is the new name for UBC. Doug is the patron saint of those of us who never did like to clean barrels.

Who cleans barrels? I would not put CLP in my barrel regardless, unless I was looking at long term storage.

I recall an article in Precision Shooting from 15 or so years ago that described problems with teflon microparticles in rifle bores. The original CLP was Break-Free, which contained such particles. Tri-Flow (TriFlon) was another lube that also included teflon. Benchrest shooters found that until the teflon particles were removed by shooting, accuracy suffered, probably from differing bullet friction as the teflon was removed over several shots.

If your current CLP is teflon free, then that problem may no longer exist.

There's a good point in there about the CLP. Eezox is the best available rustproofing, it is a superior lubricant that doesn't gum. It doesn't thicken in cold.
