A pre 64 F/W in .257 Roberts....likely Winchester already had designs on the 6mm after introducing the F/W .308...
Imagine some of you have one (or more) on your "list"...

I have seen a F/W,by serial number, made the summer of 1963 in .284 Win? A Winchester collector bought it from the mid-west. Real or not,it was a cool rifle.IF someone faked it,they knew what they were doing...
Come on America, Athletes and actors are not heroes, only soldiers, airmen, marines and sailors get that respectand let's add firemen and LEO's

According Roger Rules book there is a possibility that a FWT in 222 Remington was in the R&D department.

Would have liked to have seen a 70 Classic in .470 Capstick (hunting man's rifle.......not a Big Five)
A Big Bore 94 in .480 Ruger would have been cool.

Balltownbob: I have a couple on my Winchester "wish they would have made" wish list. One I still dream of having to this day is a Varmint Model pre-64 Model 70 in 222 Remington. I have actually shot a pre-64 Winchester Model 70 Hornet Standard Rifle that was converted over to 222 Remington and it shot pretty well. But I would love to own a REAL factory offering in the Model 70 Varmint in the classic 222 caliber - I bet it would have been a shooter. And I would have loved to own a Supergrade pre-64 Model 70 in the wonderful 280 Remington offering. I had a Model 70 action from the month I was born (July 1947) made into a custom 280 Remington replete with 25" barrel and this Rifle has been just a dream to shoot and Hunt with! Hold into the wind VarmintGuy
