Am thinking seriously about one. Anyone have experience with it?

Yup, get yourself a 264 LBC or a 6.5 CSS barrel and for get about all the hassles and BS associated with Bill Alexander and his troublesome 6.5 Grendel.

I have one on the AR platform that I really like. Nice mild little cartridge that gets a lot done for the powder burnt. It shoots the 90 gr. Speer TNT, The 100 gr. Nosler B.T. and the 107 Sierra MK in the .5 to .6 range consistently. The loads for those bullets all use Benchmark powder at different charge weights. Those bullets will do all I expect of the Grendel. I have shot PDogs, jack rabbits, and yotes with the 90 gr. TNT, deer with the 100 gr. B.T., and have shot steel plates with repeatable accuracy out to 1K with the 107 MK.

Mine really likes the 129 gr SST, half-MOA accuracy and it just seems to kill out of proportion to its size and powder burnt, use it quite a bit on feral pigs......

Just ordered my .264 LBC from Les Baer last week. Gonna try the 123 Scenar for long range, but am looking for a good fur bullet for fox and lynx too. Any recommendations?

Like I stated earlier in the post I use the 90 gr. TNT at 2810 fps on yotes. The exit wounds are about the size of nickle or a quarter in size. I know the yote is a lot tougher than a fox so the TNT may not as fur friendly on them. A lynx, well I have no knowledge of them. Hope this helps some.

Been shooting one(actually 3, one Alexander Arms upper, two gas piston uppers I built, plus I put together all three lowers) for about two year now. I'm just a shooter nowdays, now hunting so cannot comment about effects on game, but that should not be hard to figure out, certain size, type, weight bullet, at x fps.

Out of the AR platform it's very mild to shoot, especially my 24" Shilen barrel with muzzle brake, not much more recoil than a standard AR in 5.56, Accuracy is the strong point.

For someone wanting a bullet for little effect on fur, I have been shooting some 130 gr Norma HP boattail, match bullets that should be quite effective.

My wife wanted an AR of here own, and she picked the 6.5 Grendel. So far it's a tack driver, and she loves it. She just shot a real nice 2.4" group at 300 yards about a half hour ago.

She probably would've done better without the rain. We don't have a roof over our bench yet, and so this time of the year around here (S.W. Washington), it's either shoot in the rain, or don't shoot. We are heading back east to Montana for antelope, so we'll see how it does on them.

Things are looking up for the Grendel. Just this week, SAAMI announced acceptance for the cartridge and AA announced it had been trademarked.
