Anyone ever have their entire turret come unscrewed from their tube when taking the cap off?

I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

Always wondered what the inside of a turret housing looked like.
The edges of the turret still in the scope look jagged like someone might have given her a good twist.

VX3, 6.5-20 sorry about the poor quality photograph. Maybe you could have Leupold install some of their friction turrets..

Yep. VX3 pistol scope. This was after I sent it in because the damned thing didn't track/change POI correctly and the adjustments "caught up" after 2 weeks waiting for deer season. I sent it in for repair, got it back, went to take the elevation turret off after I got it out of the box and the damned thing came off in my hand. Your purging is shot, send it back to Leupold.

Oh, it's going back. I just put a rifle together for my hunting buddy and he put this scope on it for our hunt that starts Friday. Went to bore sight it and the cap was tight. Gave a little twist and out came the whole guts. Maybe they should use lok tite or something! Had to swap out a a 4.5-14 at the last minute.
Just never seen nor heard of this happening before-especially on a nice scope.

Dennis a pal had it happen on a 1.5-5X Leupold. Not sure if it was a just defective as it came, or 300 rounds from a light 375H&H killed it...either way, it happened.
JMHO, but this sort of stuff is really annoying....for the money these scopes cost, this sort of stuff simply should not be happening.....
