does anyone have any experience with lake city match brass?I have a lot of brass from 62 and63. For some reason I can't run it through my sizing die.All measurements are under max listening my reloading manuals,I've even tried removing the mouth sizing Ball and primer punch but the case still hangs about 3/8in from fully entering the die.Any ideas?

If it is 7.62 NATO brass, it's likely that it was fired in a NATO chamber. NATO chambers are 0.013" longer to the shoulder. The brass is also thicker at the head than commercial .308. The combination would make it more difficult to resize, particularly if your die is small base or cut to minimum.

the brass is30-06 I've compared it carefully to three other head stamps that will run through the die with little or no difficulty,it actually measures smaller than some of these.

I've had great luck with Lake City brass in 30-06 and 308. Not sure what could be going on.

You say the brass is below max specs in the books? Does this include length? I'm having trouble visualizing the brass "hanging up" before it is completely in the die. Can you be more specific?
Aim for the exit hole.

I've never had any problem with LC brass, even running it through my small base die.

I've used Lake City .30/06 brass for decades in my sporterized 03-A3 with no problems at all.
Keep your gun-hand ready and your eyes peeled.

Lots of LC here with no problems. I've got no idea what is going on, but I would guess that there was something bulged or out of shape with the chamber that it was originally fired in.

thanks for the replies.it seems that there is a slight bulge at the base from the chamber it was originally fired in,there is more variation than I expected from case to case.I switched from rock crushed Jr. For resizing to my rock crusher, increased my lube a little(a couple of dented shoulders till I got it right) now all seems alwright after they are fired in my rifle will switch to neck sizing.
