well, i have no real updated pics to show other than a few of the checkering when it came back, before the final finish was applied.

i should have it back by the weekend, so more pics and a range report coming.

thanks all.
for those of you who have kept up with project know most of the details already.
for you first time viewers, jim62 did the stock from a 95% blank we'll call it, and carol from ahlman's did the checkering.
by the pics, she did an awesome 22 lpi semi custom job.
there is some change to their basic patterns.

just waiting for some tracking numbers, and then i'll know for sure when it'll get here.

i have my elk hunt in 3 weeks, sooooooo,,,, i'm kinda excited to get it, check it over, verify the accuracy, and check the b&c reticle holdovers.

i have 50 fireformed nickle case's all loaded up, and waiting.

bling case's for a bling rifle ya know !

looks like my 4 year project is finally coming to completion.
sure wish the prick in alaska hadn't screwed me over, or it would have been finished some time ago.

i honestly can't say it would have been as good looking since it was different wood, and no custom work, but at least it would have been a start, for maybe a stock up grade later.

this is a really nice piece of wood that fit into my budget, and the work with the custom tip, inletted talley sling swivels, new recoil pad, etc.... was also reasonable with being completed in just 4 months from start to finish gave me time to get it all together.

sure is comforting to know that a qualified, honest, communicatable person took on this job, unlike a hack in alaska who still has not given me any updates on what he has done to my up n running stock i sent him about 18 months ago, nor even communicated with in almost a year.

damn shame we have people like that on this board.

but it's okay, the courts will prevail, and the old saying, "what comes around, goes around" may some day come true for such a dishonest man.

anyways,
whew !
it's just about done.
was thinking of sending it to doug at dynamic finish's, and getting the whole thing coating in gloss black, but it's been bedded to the bare recvr, and don't wanna mess with it, so it just may hunt it's life as a 2 tone.

Mark - Ahlman's as in Ahlman's near Morristown? When you and I traded rifles a couple years ago I was on internship less than 20 minutes from Ahlman's. What a unique shop!

Yeah will,
Jim shipped it after his part was done and he and carol discussed the pattern, then it went back to Jim for the finish to be applied, assembled, test fired, and now shipping home.
Amazing what a qualified person can do in 4 months, versus a hack who blows smoke up peoples back side and spouts a lot trying to impress everyone, and is totaly incompetent .
It's one thing to be able to talk about things and actually do it, then one who runs his mouth about many things, but can't actually do them.
Kinda like an ARM chair quarter back, or the nerd sitting at a computer talking trash, but never has actually done anything.
