I can't wait to take my Darton AS300 out tomorrow!First Saturday morning in Massachusetts.I love my bow.I bought it three years ago and wouldn't trade it for the world.Rex Darlington the owner invented the 2 1/2 hybrid cam. I'm seeing more and more new bows using the same type of cam.Boy is it fast!!!!Blows through deer deer like butter. With a 7 1/2 inch brace height,it's super accurate as well. All my friends own Mathews bows. But they all wish, they had bought a darton to save money.Any other Darton nuts out there???

I think I saw one sitting on the rack collecting dust once at a shop.

That's because you never shot one??Rex Darlington also has more bow patents than any other bow company in world. They don't need to spend millions a year on advertising. The bows speak for themselves.Hoyt lost to a law suit a few years ago because of a bow deigns that was to close to dartons bow. Seriously I know your being a wise guy,but they really make kick ass bows!!Just underrated, because people don't hear about them enough.

That is funny. And just remind me how many World Records do they hold? Remember the best shooters in the world can shoot any bow they choose to. Must be a reason they choose Hoyt and Mathews. Oh must be because of the Contingency Money!

Yea!How many darton shooters are in 3D??To bad they don't advertise as hard as Mathews or hoyt. They don't have to because Darten makes all there money selling patents to a bunch of copy cats.Read up a little history on them and you might understand? The Pro-3000 is as good as ANY Mathews out there.Hands down I've shot almost every bow out there.I do like the new Mathews Monster. It's a cool bow but no better, than the new Dartons. Every time im at the range guys can't believe how fast they are.Whatever!!! You shoot what you like.I'll shoot what I want. The post is asking for Darton fans out there. Not Jackasses!!Keep thinking the best is only what you read?

I've shot Dartons most of my life. I went with the Matthews DXT last year only because it was such a good deal (Bro gave it to me for pennies on the dollar). I kept the Darton and have it as backup.

Darton seems to be a MI thing. Outside of this state, most people say Darton who?

My first bow was a Darton, the SL50 to be exact.

Just how fast does your Darton shoot and what grain arrows?

Ok I just checked it out.

It's got a 7" brace not 7 1/2"

And to be quite honest the #'s are not really impressive.
I mean IBO of 326....no big speed demon that's for sure.

I compared it to my Z7 which btw the IBO is 333
Ata on yours is 31 3/8,mine 30
Weight yours 4.1 lbs, mine 4

Don't get mad at me look it up your self.

I'll stick with mine, thx

Come on Tom264 don't rain on his parade. LOL

Darton is an ok bow but no where near what he is trying to sell it as. It will kill game and shoot well enough for the average target archer.

My first compound was also a SL50. After a stint with traditional gear, I bought a Maverick in 1999. Had a good time with it and had no complaints. Shot that until '07? when I got the Bowtech.

Maverick.....

I loved my Darton but it was a 15 yr old bow when I got the Matthews. If my dxt lasts 15 yrs I'll be just as happy.

The guy who owns the local archery shop sells them and they are REAL nice bows. Fast also. There are a few guys who shot them in the indoor archery league, during the winter, and are consistant scoring leaders.

I think guys believe this or that bow is the best because they see them on TV all the time in advertisements along with women flaunting big mamms. What's not to like? smile

Darton is, and always has been, a premier quality bow. Disagreement and inexperience doesn't change that fact. They aren't publicized as much as some other brands. You also don't pay nearly as much for a Darton. I have owned and shot many Dartons, but my first was the Lightning model. At the time I bought it (1983) it was the fastest bow on the market 4 years in a row. This was determined by real world chronograph testing against most other commercially available bows performed by the area's largest retailer . Dartons have always had a reputation for high speed.

That old Lightning is nothing like today's Darton models. Last year, at a large sporting equipment and outfitter show, I had the chance to test-fire a Darton DS-3800 against top models from several other manufacturers. The Darton was hands-down the smoothest bow I shot that day.

Our God reigns.
