Bye, bye. I agree, T. Is he being just a BIT too ingenuous here? I'm hoping that this is all a scam, that he's trolling. B'sW Me too! But I am done biting, he is on ignore.

Child support kept me poor for a lot of years, and most of what was left over went for paying to fight for visitation. The visitation problem was not because I did anything wrong other than marry a vicious bitch. I never regretted a penny of the support. As a father it was my job to get em raised whatever it took. My youngest is now 38 and all are good citizens. That's payment enough, and the bonus is none of them will even speak to their mother. I had to delay getting a lot of toys, but I'm living good now.

Ironically, one idea my lawyer did like came from a PM here on the campfire...I might be able to sue for custody of the kids, and try to get the women to pay ME child support. Then I can just have the kids go to daycare most of the time since I'm busy. This idea has merit.
For now, I'm just going to try and fight everything step by step through my lawyer. Neither of the women has much money, so if I can tie this up enough to drain their finances, they might give up or I can negotiate the child support down to a pittance.
Wish me luck... I hope it goes up to 6k a month. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif" alt="" />

Color me skeptical! I am taking this whole business about as seriously as the thread about 'Stick being in jail.
I have seen far too many photos displayed here of David spending quality time with 'Sticks children to believe he could be so calous about any of his own progeny.
Methinks he be a troublemaker <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />......Somebody said that at least once before, I am sure.
Come on David, find a less serious topic with which to yank our chains.
If you are successful in convincing this group that you are a deadbeat dad, I doubt that you will find much sympathy or respect around here.

Spikey! I'm listening man! I'm listening! Just ran out and bought a box of 4 ply's! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
Brother Dave, hold on a sec', gotta go find some wood to knock on -- oh wait, it's right here .... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif" alt="" />
ANYWAY......, pick 'em better next time AND stepping up to the plate with parenting duties wouldn't hurt either. No way in hell I'd let my kids mom have them full time. We split time with 'em 50/50 and I wouldn't have any less.
Be interesting what some of the tradionalists think of this: [note: read the above first, no less than half time with the kids and I mean it from the bottom of my heart!] Since my ex is an uppity-up with a big company (bright gal, she earned it, btw), she makes about double what I do. Translation: she pays ME child support!

Just got off the phone with Spike, and I MUCH appreciate him setting me straight. Must have been hard to do...no doubt it isn't easy to slap some sense into one of your pals. I'm thankful he's a good enough friend to do what had to be done.
Muley, you're right about stepping up...and I'm thinking a little more clearly about this.
Tonight, I'm going to call one of the moms and discuss things. I've barely met her son...(think he's named after me).
Maybe I'll flip her a little cash each month, if the other woman will drop the charges, so to speak, and let me off the hook. Her BF is a male stripper, and makes good cash, so he can pitch in a bit, as far as I'm concerned.
Anyway, gotta call my lawyer and see if a phone call to one of the moms is a good idea.
Thanks again for all the good advice, especially Spike!

Kids are a blessing, man! You know I think highly of you. I also know how bitter things can get. Tough all the way around. Hope it works out!

I am almost finished with my support obligations, 13 months & 15 days left. Have not seen either of them in more than 6 yrs. Still worth every penny. Got a call from one of the girls a couple of days ago, her ma is divorcing the dude she has been with since she left me. They have kids together, 4 & 7, now it is his turn in the bucket...
Me thinks there seems to be a pattern developing here...

Dave, you breed 'em, you pay for 'em. I pay mine; you pay yours.
Go for custody if you can and you want to; I'd love to have primary custody of my daughter, but that ain't gonna happen (yet). But, if you're doing it only for the $$, that's so the wrong reason, I gotta hope you're joking.
Also, if you're worried about where the $$$ is going, work out a plan as to how you can make sure the $$$ goes where it ought to. Like find out where child care is and have it structured so you write the check directly to the provider. Same for private schools (you ought to be able to swing a rather nice one for $3K/month).
Try not to write the check to the Mom if that's a problem; find a way to work around that so you know where your $$ for YOUR kids is going.

If you don't pay for the rearing and support of your children then who will? Their moms, you gotta be dreaming! The state/feds, yep, that's right we all will. Grow up, get a grip and pay for your play. It sure ain't my job.
