I need help from M7 aficionados. Check out this link. The stock appears to be painted and the shape of the KS M7's. It is definitely painted. Did Remington ever paint injection molded stocks? The box label does not indicate that it is a KS. Any thoughts? http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=258261617

i think that is the injection moulded M7 stock. they have a 'pebble grain' moulded in...
those are nice rifles, but that's about 2x what they sell for in this area.

Thanks. I didn't realize that injected molded stocks had the texture. They're asking way to much. I'm on the lookout for one to drop into an McMillan Edge so if you run across one in 260, 7-08, or 308 reasonably priced let me know.

That is an all original M7 SSYN , I'd guess , from the mid 90s . I have 2 identical to it . Nice Rifles ! I think people are too quick to throw these stocks away though . My .243 will cut one ragged hole ( as long as you don't get the barrel hot ) and the 7mm-08 is MOA . Both are in the Rem. stocks . That price however is way out of line , He's going to be holding that rifle for a long time .
Don't forget to have your Liberals spayed or neutered !

I highly doubt that is an injected molded stock. That looks like similar to a KS stock. It positively has some type of texture sprayed on paint as the top coat. That is some type of fiberglass stock, probably added by owner after purchase. Internet pic of factory Seven SS synthetic stock:

Factory stock, ridiculous price.
I replace valve cover gaskets every 50K, if they don't need them sooner...

I agree with BX, it's definitely been painted. Not even close to the old factory KS stock at all: MtnHtr

$650 max rifle with a M8 4x. You do the math. Dude is either smoking a rock or is a used car salesman.

It looks exactly like the tupperware on my mid '90s stainless synthetic. I might could go as high as 7 bills for the package. Seller must be a democrat.

That looks an awful lot like an original M7. However, the stock appears to have been shortened in adding the after-market pad. (The swivel stud is closer to the butt than mine are.) My stocks show a mold line along the upper and lower edges that I do not see in the GB pics. Remington might easily have splattered the original stocks after molding to help seal in the glass fiber which is injected into the original stocks. That would make each stock unique in texture. I don't see the texture as being a significant variance from OEM. The rear screw on the rifle has been slotted - not a bad idea. The price suggest a twofer deal to me.

Reminds me of another Gunbroker "mascot".. I tried to talk some sense into this guy a long time ago, with no response. I think it's been listed for at least a couple of years. Meanwhile, exact same rifles NIB have been sold numerous times on GB for hundreds cheaper. $900 and $60 shipping shows me someone who's not in the same zip code as reality.. http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=258063563

To me, it looks like a M7 from the custom shop. In essence a M7 KS but with a stock designed specifically for the M7.

Wouldn't the label on the original box have 'KS' printed on it somewhere?
Nice M7, no J-lock, but several hundred $$ over-priced if not 'KS' as others have mentioned.

Looks pretty close to the same stock. I paid about $450 on close out a few years back for this 7 Shamwow. [img:left] [/img]

Its tupperware.
And to all those who believe that its not, did you every handle a M7 SS?
If you did, you'd know they added some texture to those tupperware stocks...but they're still tupperware.
I probably hit more elk with a pickup than you have with a rifle. I have yet to see anyone claim Leupold has never had to fix an optic. I know I have sent a few back. 2 MK 6s, a VX-6, and 3 VX-111s.
