What is the best factory ammo for this barrel? Bullet weight and brand if anyone has experience with this one. Ammo cost to much to try all of the manufactures to see what it likes. Trying to see if there is one brand that is the most popular.

Sorry, the only factory loads I have fired from my .280 were Remington 150's. They did just fine.

Forgot, we also shot some of the 165 gr. round nose loads. Those were hideous!!!

I've tried Federal Vital-Shok ammo, with both 140 gr. Barnes TSX and Nosler Accubond bullets.

The Barnes TSX load was crazy accurate out of my custom .280, but velocities were on the slow side. The Nosler Accubond ammo, which is sadly no longer loaded by Federal, is not only very accurate, but produces MV's around 3000 fps out of my 22" barrel.

I stocked up on the Accubond stuff several years ago, at ridiculously low prices, from Midway. I should have a lifetime supply on hand.

I think Federal would do well to resume this loading, IMO.
