I need to remove the buckhorn sight on my 1895CB and, IIRC, the dovetail sight drifts out from right to left ( as seen from the receiver end). Darn thing won't budge and taps from the other way won't work either. I've let some oil get in there, and still no luck.
Anyone else have this sort of problem?

The dovetails on my rifles drift out from left to right, but I don't have an 1895. If your rifle also drifts out from left to right, you may have just tightened it real good by driving it from right to left.
I'm not a gunsmith, but that's my guess.

I just changed the front sights on my Guide Gun and they also tap out from left to right.I used a small punch to tap mine out.
Good luck..

Left-to-right it is, then. Should have asked beforehand, as my memory hasn't served me well lately. Thanks.
