My elk hunting partner still uses that set up (w/ 2.5-8x) on his only centerfire rifle, an old, well used FN Browning 30-06. That and 180 gr factory Corelokts and he kills elk every time he draws a tag. I have a 7x57 Walther Model B Mauser that came with the same settup.

but truth be known there nuthin says i cant dead center a new leupold and use it as the scope in all the different rifle mounts.
