i have had this marlin 336 texan from 1969 sitting in my safe for a while. In the past I have sent 3 Marlins to david clay and had him do extensive work on them. One to the tune of 1300 bucks. So i was planning on sending this one but money and all got me thinking I'd just sell it and be happy with what i have.
So i posted it for sale for what i figure was a fair price and didnt get much attention.
So today I had to run by the packing house and drop off some meat to a buddies family and decided while i was there i'd shoot a few rounds.
Grabbed a box of Hornady 150 FP's and sat down to the fold up bench.
i get my eyes right. focus on the front sight and let one fly. one more and i grab the bino's to check.
WOW! 2 touching.
with irons.
at 100 yards.
and from a factory marlin using factory ammo.
OH BOY!
one more and it peels away 1" low and right. thats fine. probably me.
I bore snake it and let it cool.
adjust the irons and let one fly. Brians on the bino's and i "hear 11 o'clock."
fire 2 and i hear. "DAMN!"
i asked what and he hands me the bino's. both touching.

CRAP, what now. sell it? keep it? scope it?
AHHHHGGG!!!!!

I saw that in the classifieds and would love to buy it. Unfortunately, no can do at this time due to some unexpected and costly auto repairs. I had one just like it when I was a teenager and loved it. For god sakes don't modify it from factory form as it's in beautiful shape and nice ones like that are getting very hard to come by !
