Nikon's have a QD. Don't know if it's the same as you need.

Would agree with the above..You can however usually buy the parts to may an "adaptor" or "converter" to go from one company's quick mount to anothers, but its obviously an extra bit of kit to be lost or broken ect..

My tripod it one I bout at Sprotsmans WH before they went under (dont recall the brand). I also use a Bog-Pod with the change out head. These two brands are colose enough to interchange. My problem has been finding a window mount with this type of system. The few I find online seem to be more photo oriented and dont appear to be the same type of mount. I have several "adaptors" but they are the attachemn that fit on the optics. I need the base. Appreciate the comments so far.

Since I am not into bi pods, I am not familiar with the type of window mount you are seeking. Mine attatches to the scope like a camera attatches to a tripod, but it attaches to the window with a large head set screw. It can be removed from the window in about two seconds with a quick two-three partial turns to loosen the grip. Better yet, you can swivel the scope into the truck/car in a horizontal position, swivel the scope against the window and roll the window almost all the way on cold days. Very handy seeking mule deer in the high desert. The only thing that could be much quicker is a faster method of attaching the scope to the mount. Good luck, Jack

Good luck, Jack Jack, Quick Detach part attaches to the scope base. Then that base fits into the mount typically with some type of spring loaded lever. It keeps you from having to screw it into the base.

Roscoe, since you use a bogpod all you would need is this part to adapt your window mount to a quick release stem ? http://www.boggear.com/accessories/adapt-a-pod.html

Nope....the bogpod adapter I have is one like this. http://www.boggear.com/accessories/standard_camera_adapter.htmlbut....I did find a manfrato adaptor that may work....just not sure if the base will work with the bogpod stuff. Thanks for the idea though. R

Rosco, The adaptor that Redmtn is on about fits between your specialised bog pod ball head and a standard tripod or mon0 pod ect.. In your case, that adaptor would allow you to use your existing ball head with the Manfrotto 243 window mount below: You could lock-tite the bog-pod adaptor to the Manfrotto 243 window mount and leave this as one unit, adding the ball head when you want to use the window mount.. Alternatively, if you didn't want to bother switching the ball head between the tripod and the window mount, you'd need to buy an additional ball head from Bog-pod... Regards, Peter

That's what I was thinking Pete, seems like the easiest and cheapest set up since Rosco has the other bogpod parts.

Got it....I did not understand how that part worked. Looking at the photo closer I think you are right. Thanks for the help!
