I was told this was unfired and it looks that way to me, bolt face clean, nothing showing on feed ramp, no rings ever installed, but can not be positive. Happy to forward large pics for your review if you furnish an email address. No box or rings. I was told it was gifted in 1972 and the serial # checks out as 1971. Folding rear sight. One only 1/2" safe mark on the stock and the typical mark on the bottom metal were someone opened the magazine plate and it rested on the the bottom metal flange, otherwise mint I will disassemble the rifle (with appropriate screwdriver) and ship with barreled action and stock boxed side by side to avoid any more broken stocks. One broken by USPS and one by UPS, never did get full compensation from USPS. Not looking for trades. Thanks
Shouldn't this gun have the round top that took the Model 700 rings and bases? I don't know, just have never seen an early one that wasn't w/sights. Beautiful rifle and yes...it won't last long. powdr
It's not a Roundtop, as is visible from the pics. What I cannot tell is whether it is a Hollowbolt, or hole in the bolt, like a pre-64 Win Model 70 Featherweight. If it is, I will take it. PM me if it is. Thanks,

The Hollow bolt looks just like the regular bolt, except for the drilled hole in the bottom of it. Rarer than Flatbolts and only made in the long action about this time(1971). Serial #'s I have seen for hollowbolts range from 70-23XXX to 70-43XXX. Even with the standard bolt, this is a really good deal for someone who wants this caliber & configuration.
