Just came axcross this.

A veteran - whether active duty, national guard or reserve, retired, or discharged from any of these - is someone who, at one point in his/her life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The People of The United States of America', for an amount of 'up to and including my life.' That is Honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it. ~ Author Unknown

Thank you for posting this. I was medically retired in 2004 after 16 years in the Army. I thought it my duty to serve my country to best of my ability and wish I could still serve this country. I was hurt in Iraq and disabled from an accident while there. Again thanks for your post.
