What weight bullets are usually good for this twist rate on a 223/5.56mm?

Anything up to and including 69gr should be fine.

Most 1:9 twist barrels will shoot up a 75 grain bullet with good accuracy. Anything heavier will not stabilize

A Doe walks out of the woods today and says, that is the last time I'm going to do that for Two Bucks.

I have an AR-15 with a 16" barrel and 1-9 twist. It has done fine with 55 and 69 grain bullets, the 69 SMK is the only one I've tried but it shoots well. Most 55s should do well in almost any twist rate of .223/5.56.
I picked up some 36gr Barnes Varmint Grenade bullets to try also. This bullet is unusually long for its weight, being lead-free, so also should work in a 1-9 twist.

The 65gr Sierra Gamekings stabilize well in a 1 in 9 twist. I personally have not tried anything heavier.

Which 75gr bullets? There are different ones. I can see not stabilizing an A-max, but it might do an HPBT. It's all about the length of the bullet, not the weight.

They did not keyhole, but they were very inaccurate compared to all other loads I have run. I attribute it to poor stabilization.

The BVAC website is slightly worse than useless; it's actually user-offensive with all their 404s. I was unable to get any information on their products but I did find out they have sold to the Phillipines and New Zealand and that's more important to know than anything about their products.
The Bullet Database does not have any information on their offerings, so if ever you get a chance to measure their bullets, plase post the information here. As I said earlier, twist and stability are all about bullet length.

I agree, the site is pretty bad. You can find a pic at cheaper than dirt. I don't have anynleft as I shot it all up. I have used their 10 mm Auto and other 5.56 loads with success.

Mine will not stabilize 75 grain projectiles. Run a rod and tight patch, you'll find you don't have a true 9 twist... more probably like a 9.3 or 9.5 which is almost but not quite enough more than likely.
We can keep Larry Root and all his idiotic blabber and user names on here, but we can't get Ralph back..... Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, over....

I have shot Fiocci 77 grain match ammo for a test and it shot well enough in my 1:9 RRA.
