Opening weekend of Mo. rifle season was a good one. 3 of 4 first-time hunters killed deer, one of those got two. Weather was too warm, as it always seems to be these days. I spent most of the weekend helping others, but had Monday AM to hunt for myself. Being as I was by myself and recovery would be difficult I committed myself to only shooting something noteworthy. Congrats on a great buck! I was in north MO for opening weekend as well. The rut was on. Definitely warm but great times.

Carbine length M788 in 243. Pic doesn't do the stock justice - it was refinished and bedded by someone who knew what they were doing prior to my ownership. Like most 788's it is a very accurate rifle.
Though not my usual choice for deer hunting, it is a very good workhorse of a rifle.
