Thanks DMc. I went back out deer hunting this morning. 4" of fresh snow. Mine were the first and only tracks this morning. Beautiful!

Still didn't find a fence post, but these are pretty close.

Bobcape, any chance these are CO? Just looks a lot like home to me.

Nope, both taken yesterday morning in the Black Hills near Dearfield Lake here in SD. About 5475 feet elevation. It was a beautiful morning.

Heck no! Far from it! That's the same one. Talk about durability, I dropped it on concrete and it didn't even change the POI! The BC scope caps didn't fare well though... cry

I used to have the same rifle with a Leupold 3X9 in Weaver rings. Just about identical to yours. Also had a Sako triple duece that I sold to a buddy last year. I always enjoyed those 222's.

Don, I liked the looks of the paint job, but I wanted the scope to match the walnut and bluing of the rest of the rifle....... so I scratched it off with my pocketknife. What do you think of it???

South side of Fort Peck, about 40 miles west of Hell Creek. Ruger No. 1B, 270 Roy with the purty wood swapped out for the laminate. Heavy freakin' rifle! It shoots though...

Naw, that's my brother's and mine dugout... We have a big washout in our field from the flooding this spring, so we notched a dugout into it a few weeks ago... It's pretty cool, we have a fireplace and everything in it!

Not flat, not a meadow... that's an almost 45* slope adjacent a creek and timber... pic doesn't really do the steepness any justice. We got the guy above his first elk, a 5x6 bull. My partner and I each downed a cow.
