I'm not sure if this qualifies as a 'big bore', so please forgive me if I'm on the wrong forum. I'm interested in any feedback on this cartridge in real hunting situations.

Well, the TRG-S is simply amazing. The 338 Lapua is probably the second greatest sniper cartridge. The advantage for the military is that they can chuck an AP round at soft targets at ungodly ranges. Overall, it is extremely expensive, both to buy and to shoot, but you pay for the best. Simple as that.

The TRG-S is a very well made action. I'm pretty sure that you are stuck with the factory stock though, so I hope you like it. As for the round itself, it used to be something pretty special, then Remington invented the .338 Ultra Magnum, and Weatherby legitimized the .338-.378. The .338 Lapua isn't in a class of it's own any longer.

<br>The cheapest I've seen brass is from E.A.Brown, and they want $1.37 each, if you buy over 300 pieces. Plus shipping.
