There is an interesting NULA story in the most recent edition of American Rifleman. It sounds like Mr. Forbes is joining with a shop in Maine to produce rifles built on his actions (produced in the Maine shop), a Bulldog barrel and then fitted into a stock built in the NULA shop. It will be called a Model 24 and will retail for 1/2 the price of a new NULA. It will be interesting to see how different it is from a regular NULA.

Worst things have happened I tried doing a 24hourcampfire google search, but can't find it off hand? Maybe someone else will come along and post what was said.

I am kinda pissed about it. I have a bunch of regular NULA and the older ULA rifles. I can help but think this will devalue the more expensive regular rifles.

Probably won't devalue them, will reduce the demand for them.

Probably won't devalue them, will reduce the demand for them. So if Melvin sells twice as many...at half the price, who comes out better?

Was referring to the Originals already out there. But, Mel wins either way, no?

I think Mel wins, old customers lose.

I was thinking of selling a few rifles and ordering a NULA when I heard about this. The first thing I thought of was the Remington 870 express and what it did to the wingmasters price. Dink

Whether the value of your old rifle appreciates is a matter of little import, as we NULA owners NEVER sell our guns.
I care not one whitt that my wife's ring will gain value over time, as the jeweller said, for she'll never sell it.
I was hoarding when hoarding wasn't cool.

I wish they were doing a Short Action, like most everyone else.
I've thought about selling a few off myself and trying one out.

When you look at the larger view it probably is a good deal, especially for those who can't afford the higher end item.My guess is much thought went into it and they are going after the Kimber market and whacking away at some of Cooper's customer list.It is also being made here and by American's who need job's to pay their bills and taxes . it's pretty hard to knock that idea isn't it? Just about bought a Colt light rifle a couple of times or a Kimber, anxious to see what it's like. Maybe JB will get one to review. Magnum Man

It might increase the knowledge base about the NULA, thus create more demand for interesting chambered rifles that are already out there.

I would doubt it. It sounds as if options will be kept to an absolute minimum... only two chamberings, no action length options.
This is a shooting forum, there is no place here for logic.
