black friday for me? taking advantage of a couple deals online and moving a book case to set up a 75 gallon aquarium for the wife.....may not leave the house except to go get som PVC at the local ACE.....doubt ill have to shove my way past many....

And these folks VOTE!! No wonder we've got a DUMBAZZ as POTUS!!

The black refers to the accounting term of going into the black (as opposed to the red, or negative). Most retail stores, as the story goes, only go "positive" money-wise for the year after Black Friday.

Well the crowd was not pushy or anything like that, just a lot of people. Everyone was polite as far as could tell.

I think it would be safe to say there were a lot of conservatives (me and mine) there trying to conserve money. Paid cash.

I guess in 42 years, I needed the experience, thats what da wife says, thinks. lol

It's a lot more than just a bunch of nuts in the stores, eventually they're all winding back out on the roads in traffic...

While taking my mom home this morning ran up on a guy in a Surburban on the freeway straddling the number 1 and 2 lanes doing maybe 50-55 mph while talking on a cell phone and facing sideways yelling at his kids... while the rest of traffic was doing well over 75 mph!

and that was just one of many on my little jaunt this morning, I'm staying in the rest of the day!

I wish Black Friday could be added to my favorite days to hunt list, to join New Year's Day, SuperBowl Sunday, etc. Not sure what I may see today. However, I do think I'll try to take a ride and see how things look across the bay. Ice is good now, all three plus miles of it; checked it out yesterday before the big weight gain. (Global warming somewhere has really stolen the heat from us this year: two weeks, eight inches of ice. )

All the wimmens left out of here early and there ain't no noise, breakfast or lunch!!!

And I have to watch football all by myself...

Totally insane. People think that because it's Black Friday they don't have to abide by the rules of the road, e.g., going through stop signs and ignoring traffic lights.

I am waiting fro my son to get up, he works security for Target and had to go in last night at 9:00pm returned hem this afternoon at 1:15pm. He stated it was organized madness; they prevented a $600.00 theft but lost $800.00 in video games.
He said he would give more detail later he was going to sleep.

I did go to Turners Outdoors for their early black Friday sale. It was busy but, I picked up some made in USA AR15 magazines.

There were a lot of people buying guns and everyone was civil. I think the lesson to be learned is; The more guns present, the more civilized people become.

seemed most of today's civil unrest was once again at (drum roll)..........

WAL-MART!

I've heard of 4 incidents thus far to sadly include, one elderly lady shot and killed for her purse.

Just don't get caught shop lifting.

Whatever you do don't forget the pepper spray!

We skipped it, went to the Grand Canyon, and hiked down to Indian Gardens. (4.5 miles)

Unfortunately, that put the rim at 4.5 miles away for the return hike!

All back safe and sound, clipped a cow elk with the drivers side mirror on the way back at about 45 mph (down from 70!)

I hate it when they get that close to the windshield at speed. Does that make me a chicken?

P/S all the Chinese and Indians that Newt wants to give H-1 visas to, were hiking in the canyon today.

Black Friday was quite relaxing here.

'Global Warming' is about eight inches thick as far as the eye can see.

Don't participate in the madness but one way to prevent it....require rain check for those who didn't get the chance to buy the advertised item at advertised price when they ran out.....whatever it may be..
