Me and a buddy were trying to walk one up and snuck up on him about 10 foot in front of us. 44 mag to the back of the head took him out. Clay, Graham, Cherokee, Swain, Jackson, and Macon counties are the top pig producers in western NC. This recent change makes hunting pigs a bit easier, also. On Oct. 1, 2011, state law will no longer
recognize wild boar. Therefore all wild swine (hogs) in the state,
including those in the six western most counties, will be feral
swine. After Sept. 30, 2011, feral swine will have no closed
season and no bag limits.
