The model 7 Stainless/Synthetic is what Im wondering about, friend has one and I held it, was quite impressed by the way it handled, stock was very stiff meaning strong, just wonder who made it, B&C, H-S??

Had a 260 from one of the first run models, never cared alot for it myself and put a Walnut Schnable, had it pillar bedded and the action re-barreled as it never impressed. W/new bbl in 7BR and the pillar/Walnut- it was sub 1/2 moa.
They seemed then to be a plastic injection molded stock - B&C makes a fiberglass or Kevlar now IIRC and/or HS, either/both will come w/Aluminum bedding block.
As to 'handling' that is a characteristic unique - subjective if you will. IIRC, I floated my stock or at least took out the speed bumps on the tip.
I don't think the stock necessarily hurt the guns potential so much as it was toos slim in the forend for my hands and how I shot, which granted was a good bit off bags, never a good match - slim rounded forend - vs. say the old 600s w/flatter bottom.
Do check out what B&C and HS has as well as McM though the latter as you know are pricier. I would trust those over the plastic myself for rigidity/accuracy, etc.

Neither H-S or B&C made the stock, obviously since it was a injection molded unit, the one I handled seemed very stiff, I have 2 tupperware stocks here so i know how they feel, this one was just like my H-S stocks, maybe the previous owner made a upgrade, huh.

If it is stiff, it is probably an aftermarket upgrade. The injection molded factory synthetics were really really flexible. I had to hog out a massive amount of plastic to free float the barrel enough the flexing stock didn't make contact under recoil and cause fliers. Sort of diminishing returns 'cause the more I hogged out, the more flexible the stock got, so the more I needed to remove. I finally got it functionally good but it sure looked like hell.
Anyone who thinks there's two sides to everything hasn't met a Mbius strip.
Here be dragons ...

You may have run into a coveted Seven FS stock, which was real fiberglass not molded.
My molded stock on a Seven Stainless is very flexible. I would never try to free float one, but rather full-length bed it in tight instead.

I've got Model Sevens (SS with injected molded black stock) in 260 Remington and 308 Winchester and love the handling and light weight. The 308 will group 1" every day; the 260 will go about 2" (disappointing).

Thats a factory Rynite stock, I believe. According to Dupont's web site: "Rynite FR530 BK507 is a 30% glass reinforced, flame retardant, black, modified polyethylene terephthalate resin recognized by UL as UL94V-0 at 0.35mm. It has an outstanding balance of properties, temperature index and flow characteristics." Glass reinforced - interesting. see: http://www.engpolymer.co.kr/product/rynite/RFR530B.pdf
