Want to buy a pair of pull on rubber boots. Whats good
Cabella's. LaCross or Muck brand. Need them to bow hunt, crossing small creeks(checking traps) and barn work.
Thinking on 800 gm of insulation, any thoughts.

I love my muck boots. They are the most comfortable boots I've ever worn, and you can roll them down if you start to get hot.

I've got 4 pair pf Lacrosse one of which (Le Grange un-ins.) is 10 years old and I've worn them hard every season. The only thing I've done to that old pair is take out the factory soles and inserts the gel type. They are just about as comfy as sneakers during long walks Turkey Hunting and Bow Hunting. I wear the Camo Burly 800s when Temps are 35 -50 or so and the Burly 1000s when the temps are lower than that. I've tried a couple of different brands and Lacrosse is the best so far.

I can't preach enough about how great Rubber boots are for scent free approaches to you hunting location. I've had many deer come in on the same trails I did.

Good Luck!

lacrosse, no question. I have 4 or 5 pair, they are all I use in ga as I mainly hunt from a stand (not a lot of walking) and lots of water. scent free also, never touch them with my hands around the bottom if possible trying to keep scent away. my wife and kids have them, must have 10 pair in all in many sizes. bought the last pair, the burley model, for $34.95. last for years. never warmed up to the newer alpha-burley.

one more thing, as far as I know, lacrosse still uses natural rubber and they hold up much longer than some of the cheaper brands.

My family has used LaCrosse's for many years. They've always worked great until the last pair I bought. 1200 gram camo burley's. In just two years both boots had stress cracks near the ankles where the sides flex. I sent them back to LaCrosse, but haven't heard back yet.
These don't feel as "rubbery" as previous boots. They claimed they didn't change anything, but I can tell they're different. My 600 gram pair are over ten years old and still going strong.

I like my LaCrosse's very much. I use the uninsulated Alphas and for my feet (which sweat and then get cold), they are about perfect - they keep the feet warm and dry, keep the damp, cold air out, and I don't even flinch at creeks, lake edges, snow, etc.

I've got a pair of uninsulated LaCrosse boots that I bought over 10 years ago, and they still work great.

My wife is one of the hardest people to please that I have ever known. Never has she had a pair of boots that has made her happy. We were in a gunshop and she saw a pair of Muck boots. Tried them on and liked them. To me they looked bulky and stiff. We went to Anticosti and did allot of walking. She kept singing the praises for her new boots. I personally have always worn LaCrosse and have always been happy. However, I kept thinking how happy my wife was with the Mucks. I bought a pair and will never go back. Great support, lightweight, and easy to slip on. That was my biggest complaint with the LaCrosse. When the least bit damp and the tight ankle fit, they, at times, were near impossible to slip into. Just my $0.02 worth.

I've got Mucks and am really happy with them. Had 'em for 2 years now, and have probably walked a 100 miles in them.

Lacroose boots are all made in china now. I think that's the difference. I have had a pair for over seven years. I like them alot. I've been thinking about another pair with more insulation. Not sure what to get.

I got a response from LaCrosse about my boots ... a brand new pair was dropped off by the big brown truck! No questions asked!

I guess I'll stay with them for a while!

Xtra-Tuffs have my vote too. Only messed up one pair by slicing it on a sharp rock bear hunting. Didn't cut through all the way and remained waterproof the remainder of the hunt. Just did a sheep hunt with mine and walked 21 miles on the GPS. Don't know if I'd recommend them for sheep hunting though

WOW! That's great customer service. Another reason to like LaCrosse.

My old pair of Lacross Burleys are still hanging in there even after a dozen years of use. Would not hesitate in buying another pair of Lacross boots and fully expect them to last me till the end of my time.

I've been wearing LaCrosse boots for about 6 years and the only thing I've found thats more comfortable is the new Alpha series. Bought a pair of the 800 gram Alpha's last year and plan on getting an uninsulated pair before deer season starts this year.
