yeah, it blew pretty good last night. Several people without power this morning or without shingles.
As far as the forecast, well, I won't hold my breath considering their accuracy for the last week or so.....

We were up in Petersville last weekend, and the highway was clear all the way to Anchorage city limits. Then it turned to crap....
I'm sure that will change though.

My house shoot pretty good as well. One thing about the Chinook is some of the snow went down and maybe I can find the stuff that got blown around.

I've got about 2 inches of snow/ice on my roof and I had about 2-3 feet to start with and all the snow I plowed is just about gone. The Glenn Highway was ice free and just like driving in the summertime. Only lost power for about 3 hours yesterday.
That's ok, I'll ass shoot a dink.

The Pineapple Express do suck at times. It'll take a while for skiing to come back. S.E. deer got a huge reprieve. Folks were hammering them on the beaches. Could hardly be called hunting - more like harvesting.

Update to 12/10 and Kotzebue. In midst of 3rd blizzard(mid-20's)in 5 days,40 knot winds, after 2 weeks of below zero (10-30 below) with no wind - what we call "Fairbanks weather" here. We were starting to get worried about this global warming stuff - but it's OK now...

Anchorage may be in the Banana belt, however it is not exempt from generally crappy weather. On the average # of clear days is a whopping 61, # of partly cloudy days 64 and the # of cloudy days is about 240 all this with an average rainfall of around 14 to 16". It can rain every day for a month and not total an inch of rain. All this adds up to many dreary days. It is also the time of the year when I've about had it with this place. Mainly the cloudy days and many hours of darkness. pete

Man, was it crappy this morning! Hard driving rain/snow, a tree across the Northbound lane with a ton of rocks the other side of McCugh Crk. Stopped in Girdwood til it got light, road pretty much flooded around the arm, snowing to beat the band in the pass, 10 mph for quite a ways.....prolly second worst day I have ever seen.
It's not the destination...

All kidding aside, what I remember about Anchorage this time of year when passing through was the gray dreary days and the rain/snow; certainly manic depressive weather.
Feb. was the tough month for me, I'd go to Tampa to visit family.
