Wasn't sure where to post this so I stuck it here. Looking for a new chrony, nothing fancy, but not junk. Any recommendations? Any I should stay away from? Thanks---2MG

I bought a Pro-chrono for under $100 probably 10-15 years ago figuring that I'd buy a better one when I put a hole in it. Well they still don't cost much more than $100 and since I haven't yet put a hole in it my Pro-Chrono still works well. I like that it's easy to set up and just works while not costing too much.
Before too long I'm probably going to have to have one of the Oehlers with the proof channel and print out, just to save myself the trouble of writing each velocity down.
If you need cheap that works try the Pro-Chrono, if you want bells and whistles buy an Oehler....................DJ

I recently bought the Oehler 35 and I am very pleased. I purchased it directly from Oehler and the people there were very easy to work with. Fantastic chrono!

The good news is even my cheapest rebuilt Shooting Chrony will give good accurate readings but lighting conditions have a greater effect on it.

Prochrono is hard to beat. I also have the F-1 and it's junk compared to the pro-chrono.

If you want cheap, get a reconditioned shooting chrony. True they can be finicky in some lighting conditions, but they are cheap enough that you don't mind if you shoot one by accident.

Other than that, oehler 35 is the way to go.

Or on purpose.

Another satisfied ProChrono customer. I have had two of them, the first one wound up with a buddy when I retired from shooting 6 years ago. Then, when I "unretired", I had to have another one. It works just as well as the first one. My only regret is that it doesn't come standard with remote control for changing shot strings and our range has strict rules about going beyond the firing line. In my situation, the Oehler would probably be better, but I like the ProChrono's price and functionality. (As long as I am the only one at the range, it is great!)
