Hiya Kevin,
I have the 12 LRP in 6.5creedmoor.
This rifle is not ,in my mind a hunting rifle, it's heavier than I would carry very far. I knew that when I bought it and have others that carry lighter in .260rem, 25.06.etc
As usual I bought some factory ammo to compare my loads to and was disappointed with the accuracy with factory loads.
Amax was 2" @ 100yds, the SSTs were3".
Pulled the scope and replaced it with a Weaver 36x. That confirmed this rifle was not shooting factory loads well at all.
My loads were better but not great, I've tried preliminary loads with 140gr Berger, Sierra, Hornady SST and 120TSX and Hornady 129IL. 1 1/2"-2" is typical so far @100yds frown
The rifle was then parked while I moved and then hunted ...
I think the cartridge is fine but if I don't get a load that will shoot, I'll be ordering a barrel.
This is a sample of one and I'm not done yet. Wish I had a better report for you!

I have one that shoots great. I have been shooting it with reloads using 140 A-max's and 130 Berger's. The first 100 yard 5 shot group I shot with it was a .3 inch bug hole. That seems to be the average size group I have been getting. Some smaller with nothing over .5 inch.
I have owned a lot of rifles over the years that shot well but this one outshines thm by far.

I have 2 Creedmoors; sorry no Savages, but 2 Rugers... the 77 Target rifle, and an all weather Hawkeye....both are serious shooters. Both will consistently shoot ragged hole groups with handloads or factory ammo.
I love the round as well.

Good luck,
johnny

Where are you getting your LRP's? I have one ordered in 260 Rem since last January with no delivery date in sight.

No experience with it yet, I just barreled up a garden variety savage mod 11. Got a sporter weight Shaw barrel in 6.5 cm. Seems like a good caliber for a lighter hunting rifle for deer and so on. This will also be my first 6.5. I have yet to read anything negative about the 6.5 cm from anyone actually shooting one, other than some about the availability of brass. Other than that, seems like overwhelmingly, folks like it for what it is supposed to do, shoot flat, little recoil, very accurate for competition or hunting, and kills 'em dead.

With that said, it doesn't really do anything that the 260 or the 6.5x47 won't do.
