I have 2 pairs of really cheap Cabelas poles with those compasses. Each of the 4 points a different direction. If you don't like what one says, look at another one. At least 1 of the 4 will be more or less right.

I have some Black Diamonds with the Flick-Locks. I really like them a lot. This Fall I lost my favorite in the river, took a fall and in it went. It was a single Leki pole. Reason I liked it so much was the threaded stud under the wooded grip. Could mount a binocular for glassing or a camera. Sure wish my BD poles had this feature.
