I detest the idea that an exit hole is needed to cause bleeding.
Its an animal not a fking gas can.
Its got all kind of holes already...
eye sockets, ear holes, azzhole, MOUTH... DUH!
go stab yourself in the chest and see if you dont bleed.

I told my step dad to get these

He purchased
http://www.midwayusa.com/product/13...n-core-lokt-pointed-soft-point-box-of-20

He has been a Core-Lokt fan forever. He bought his first rifle in the summer of 78, a rem 742 in 30-06 and it is the only bullet he will feed it or about any other rifle he owns. He is a little older and just bought his 2nd hunting rifle four years ago. a rem mtn rifle in 7mm-08. Then he bought a 336 marlin in 30-30 which he does use the hornady ammo in. Rem R-25. mother has a 7400 in .308, and the little Bar. Maybe it is the heavier bullet but we have had only two bullet failures with a rem core-lokt. both close range shoots where the jacket of one 308 150 gr pill, the other other 140 gr .284 pill separated from the core. One I shot a little buck at about 15 feet right in the chest and the core left the jacket and passed trough the heart . Deer went about 25 yards and fell over. the other was with the 7mm-08 shoot at about 20 yards hit the shoulder dropped the deer but needed another in the neck to finish it. I hope the little core-lokt does the trick for my step dad;) I would hate to have to buy that little rifle off him.

An exit hole usually means more blood to use for tracking, if tracking is needed. miles

Spine was clean as a whistle. I really think it exploded on the far shoulder, b/c the hole through the far ribs indicated reasonable expansion.

Has anyone tried the cutting edge bullets--brass, 65 grain with a large hollow point up front or you can add a press in plastic tip. May give them a try this weekend.

I just got a box of 95 gr. Ballistic Tips that I aim to try. I have received indicators that they are the cat's azz. Am pondering trying the A-Max. Using them in an old 788 in 6mm Remmie.
