I just did 11 of these today. Can you guess what it is? Took 95grs RETUMBO, had to throw 2 charges of 47.5 to fill the case.

62 caliber, 325 grain round ball and 120 grains of fffG, 400 grain Woodleighs in my 400 Whelen, 300 grain Partitions in my 375H&H and 405 grain Remingtons in the 45-70.
Chronographs, bore scopes and pattern boards have broke a lot of hearts.

.73 bore with 738gr lead solid, .504 with 440gr lead conical, and 7mm with 175gr NP since that is the largest centerfire I own anymore.

7mm Rem. Mag. .30-06 if you only count ones that I own. .338-.378 Wby. if you count rounds that I've done load development for. The critters and style that I hunt, if you can't get it done with anything in the .30-06 class or less, you're not much of a hunter. I have yet to ever want more gun in my hand.

375 H&H. Not a "monster," but a right serious round.

450-400 NE. Small by the standards around here, but enough to satisfy my "biggun" wants...

30-378 and the powder measure seams to have a hole in it somewhere because you are constantly having to add powder to it! At 110grns a swat you only get 63 loads per pound. T.S.

.416 Rigby - If you shoot one of these you better reload or have deep pockets for the factory stuff.

Ha ha ha! I'll inject a little humor here. The largest I load for is the .30/06. The older I get the less I feel the need for earth shattering muzzle blast and recoil, and my arthritic shoulder thanks me. The game animals haven't noticed any difference in their death rate either.

My largest (now or ever) is the .308 Win.
Don't know about anybody else, but that's all the gun I've ever needed.

The powder measure may be like my Redding BR-30 which doesn't throw big charges.

Rocky, I rarely shoot stuff bigger than a 308 any more. Most of the time the 308s aren't loaded wide open either.

Me too, mathman.
I've always viewed magnum owners as falling into one of three camps:
The very few who do need them - Alaska and Africa hunts, for example;
The great majority who only think they need them, and...
Those who have them to compensate for some other deficiency.
