I tried a search and didn't find anything; what do I need to do to ship ammo? I don't believe it can go USPS, what about FEDEX? Someone said I had to take it to them to inspect before I package it... How do you guys do it?
I have two boxes (100 rds) of 455 Webley I want to offer for sale.
Thanks - Redleg

Not Fedex. Package it, tell UPS, they haz-mat label it, good to go.

UPS or Fedex will ship, you are supposed to claim the contents. USPS will not ship Ammunition. It really is easy and nothing to really worry about...

Some of the local UPS stores get excited about shipping ammo and refuse to do it. Claim it is company policy by UPS which is BS.
If you have a problem with a UPS store, go to Office Depot or Staples and ship from there. Almost no question from them about anything. My experience is that the office supply stores are cheaper than the UPS stores. Less of an upcharge over basic UPS shipping rates.
As for the ORM-D label, you can even write it on the box with a Sharpie and it will ship just fine.

To be clear in my head, loaded ammunition does not require a hazmat fee?
Components, such as primers, smokeless powder, caps, black powder - these items, when not assembled as loaded ammunition, require as hazmat fee?
And any of these items may be legally shipped from non-FFL holder (a private party) to non-FFL holder?

Google "ORM-D" (images) and print a couple out and tape the labels to the box. UPS is preferable. I wouldn't even say what it is unless they ask but with the labels on the box they most likely will not. Make sure box is sturdy and that nothing is loose inside.

Pay and print UPS label online. print out this image and tape to box. Drop off at a UPS pickup spot.

I used to work at an ammo reloading and you can pack it, make sure you use newspaper or something to stuff the box so that it can't shake out. You can ship it thru UPS but depending on where you are shipping to. Hopefully the lower 48 states.

Way too many self appointed experts in these organizations.
I had USPS counter monkeys think you could not ship guns. But then the supervisor looked it up. lOf course proving the idiot wrong gave him an attitude.

Thanks - Redleg Jesus-f*cking-Christ. Why in the f*ck do you make this complicated? Really? How f*cking hard is it to box up some crap and ship it. As usual, some of the same DICKHEADS insist on posting patently FALSE BULLSHIT because f*cking UPS and Federal Express scare them. F*cking p*ssies. http://www.24hourcampfire.com/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php/topics/5057698/http://www.24hourcampfire.com/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php/topics/5333717/1Sign up for a Federal Express or UPS account online. Box your sh*t up securely. Weigh your box. Pay for your label online and print it. Attach the label to the box. Drop the box off at a UPS or Federal Express pickup point. That's all you need to know. None of this F*CKING BULLSHIT about "ORM-D" stickers because some UPS or Federal Express ASS-LICKER told you so. Jesus H. Christ. We go through this every so often and the SAME DICKHEADS always feel the need to reply with the SAME BULLSHIT they were called out on previously. Isn't that right, bobelk99? F*cking moron.

You can box up ammo in a USPS flat-rate box and ship it, doesn't make it legal, right, or safe... not to mention the consequences if caught...
Place the labels on the box and either take it to a UPS or Fed-Ex outlet and be done with it...
I've never had any problems with my local UPS store taking them.

Some of the local UPS stores get excited about shipping ammo and refuse to do it. Claim it is company policy by UPS which is BS. You have to go to the UPS Customer Service Center to ship any firearm related item. The UPS Store's will not do so. I think it is stupid but the Service Center's are cheaper anyway.
