Looks like they are adding a 200 grain 35 caliber Accubond. Maybe there will finally be a 35 caliber with a good BC. That should make a few Hoosiers happy!

From the 2012 catalog: 300gr. .338 Accubond, .720 BC, .375 SD 200gr. .358 Accubond, .365 BC, .223 SD
I also see a new 140gr. Ballistic Tip in 6.5 cal. with a BC of .509, SD .287. With 28" of barrel, and if I could get close to, or even reach 3000 fps, this would be an excellent bullet for western elk hunting in my old 338-378 WBY. Gunner That would be nice in a 338-378 Roy! Makes me wish I still had one of those beasts. 10-Roger on the old beasts 340boy, my old 338-378 wears a pacific research stock and a stainless shilen barrel, had it for 20 years now, I dont shoot it much, its simply not needed in Okla, out west is where it shine's , cant ever see myself without this old fire-breather. Like to try these in my EDGE. So far this year been using the Berger 300 gr and it's been just fine on elk. More options are always nice.
Could be wrong, but I don't think this bullet would have valid use in military usage. We don't run accu bonds in 5.56, why would it be allowed in .338 anti person/material systems? Wouldn't that violate Geneva Convention rules? Geneva convention has nothing to say about small arms bullet styles.

My 338-378's with 28" barrels have no problem going over 3000 fps with a 300 grain bullet. The better choice though is the 225 grain Cutting Edge bullet with .64 BC at over 3500 fps. This is the best long range hunting combination I have found for large big game. All my hunting is inside 1200 yards and the 225 is best inside that range. Shooting a mile the 300 grain is better.

What powder are you getting 3000 fps with 300 gr bullets? Is this with a accumark and a custom barrel?

All of mine are custom barrels 28-31 inches. My favorite 28" is a Hart 1-10 twist and the best accuracy load is H-870 at 3060 fps with the 300 smk. Now I shoot the Cutting Edge 225 grain .64 BC at 3510 fps out of the same rifle with 127 grains of H-870. I think the accuracy load with the 300 smk was 116 grains H-870. Run the ballistics. No need to beat your brains out with the 300 grainers in a light rifle. At 1000 yards in a 10 mph wind I think there is 1 1/2" difference in wind but the 225 is way flatter with plenty of power for anything that walks. Plus the 225 is a quality hunting bullet.

I thought about it but my 300 gr SMK are so accurate I almost don't want to change anything. I heard those Cutting Edge 225's are incredible though!
