Cut the straw to length, and where the slot tapers at the bottom, you'll need to trim the straw a bit. Note the little inverted "V" right at the bottom. I added a bit of purple fluff to show where.

I have a RCBS JR2 and will modify it with your straw idea. Thanks for the tip. Any patent infringement I need to be concerned with?

yeah, or even more Fred Flintstone, a wisk broom and dust pan.. Only problem with this route is that the dude is normally hanging around the bench playing with something while I'm reloading, so having them hit the ground and then picking them up later isn't really an option.
