I got one of those not long ago. Had to hunt it down and manually delete the file from my HDD and fix my registry file. Yuck!

Try rebooting to safe mode and then running Malwarebytes. You may have to manually change the registry. Get the name and google how to get rid of it. Most can be cleaned up without resorting to a reinstall. Bleepingcomputer.com is a good site to check.
Broncos are officially the worst team in the nation this year.

The end of democracy, and the defeat of the American Revolution will occur when government falls into the hands of lending institutions and moneyed incorporations.

Written by a "McAfee consultant" Perhaps someday. But in the meantime, having owned three Apple computers (a desktop and two laptops for the kids and all still running mind you) over the last ten years or so and we have NEVER been afflicted by a virus. The added bonus of FREE down loads /updates, the machines have paid for themselves via the absence of the virus hassle factor alone a looong time ago...

http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4650Macs have had it much better, but as the articles pointed out, hackers are paying increased attention to them as their numbers grow.

Switch to Ubuntu and forget about your security problems. Made the switch and have never been more pleased.

They have always been suspectable to Malware and anything else that can get you to type in your user password to allow something to run. So is Linux (which after all a Mac is at it's core) Can't stop stupid. After 34 years of Macs and 20 years of running them on the web sans any sort of AV without any sort of ugly getting them I'm pretty comfortable but then I'm a professional at this.

And you think that the Apple/Linux community is not doing anything to prevent that? Ain't just black hats that go to Black Hat.
