You talking the M70 "Extreme Weather" or the wood stocked SS Fwt?

I have a Kimber 84 Select and a new FW. The Kimber is much better because it's a 257 Roberts. grin

Well both are great CRF actions, but Kimber has a better stock for sure. I would go for the Kimber. I know there are Kimber haters on here because of accuracy issues, but I never ran into that problem (there are bad barrels from every major factory manufacturer). Besides you would get better resale value for the Kimber down the line too.

Kimber by a landslide.

I have 5 winchesters and one Kimber. I think the Winchester is the better built action, especially if you get an early New Haven one with the serial number under G200,000.

The Kimber is a better rifle in a short action and the Winchester is better long action rifle...IMO....

I would go withe the one that brings the biggest smile to my face when I hold it.

Personally I am partial to the pre 64 Model 70. But I held a plastic stock 84M at my local gun shop and it balanced beautifully

YMMV

It was a Kimber with a plastic stock

Maybe not an 84M

It was a fine rifle even with the plastic

Kimber in a classic stainless. Would be an awesome rifle for the 243.

No contest, either SA or LA, Kimber 84M or L over the M70... and I've had right at 20 M70's.

If Kimber offered a hinged floorplate, I'd consider one. Until then it would be Winchester

I'm just the opposite... I'd always rather have a blind magazine.
