I have one of these that has developed an apparent head space issue. I've cleaned the bolt and the breech face to eliminate that as an issue. When putting an empty case in the gun, and watching things with the action out of the stock, I see the case get driven forward by probably .020 - .030 when the firing pin strikes it. My thought is that I have to set the barrel back to correct this, which brings a couple of questions: 1. How the devil does one get the barrel pin out? I've bent a punch trying to drive it out. 2. What does one do about the groove in the underside of the barrel? Drill it out for a larger pin? Solder it and redrill? An inquiring mind would like to know!

Heat the area around the pin with a propane torch and drive it with a short pin punch just slightly smaller in diameter than the actual pin.
It would be much less of a problem to simply bush and re-cut the chamber. If done correctly, it makes for a superb repair.

Or build up the locking lug with weld, and dress it down until tight headspace is achieved?
