I am glad you posted this about your A7. I had a friend call me this week wanting info on one, and I have read good reviews but haven't heard anything first hand until now. Good to know!!!

It weighs 7lbs scoped so it is fairly light. You know when it goes off....grin

Had an A7 25-06 that I really liked until I came across a Finnlight 25-06 that I had to have so I sold it here. I am still breaking in the 85; it is accurate BUT the A7 shot super tight groups. Killed a bunch of hogs with that gun.

I have been on the fence for years about getting a press but always find a factory load that works for each rifle without too much trouble. I have tried Fed Premium in the A7 and the blue box outshoots it for sure. 85 grain sp I think. Deer run on the small side where I hunt and that is more than enough. I will give the fusions and Barnes a try.

I don't have any rifles that won't shoot Fusions sub MOA.

From 243, 25-06, 25-06AI fireforms, 7mm-08, 270, 308 to 300WSM.

Remingtons, Kimbers, Tikkas, Sakos....and they all shoot the blue box Federal Powershoks just about as well. The Fusion is just a little better bullet, IMHO.

So far, Barnes have been about the same - but I've only tried them in 223, 243 & 7-08.

Actually, the blue box and Fusions have shot a lot better than the Federal Premiums, IME.

But rolling your own is by far the most fun, at least to me.

My problem is sometimes time for load work-up/reloading - so it's nice to have some factory loads I know I can fall back on, just in case.

I've to a couple sake 85's but my A7 can out shoot them. Now the action on the 85's are way ahead of the A7 and the accuracy difference isnt all that much for big game. Could be the scope.
