Agreed. It's a terrific looking rifle.
With a little more drop at the comb than the usual Classic?

Thank you. Yes the drop is a little more than I like. Originally, the stock had a huge, ugly roll-over Monte Carlo cheek piece that had to go. I ran a straight line from the point of the comb to the heel and cut along it. Then I rasped off the remains of the cheekpiece.

It is a terrific handling rifle, too. Swings and points like an extension of your arm, and fits a fat face just fine. Ted

Well, I was going to say I like it more because of the increased drop. Even if your stockmaker doesn't agree!

Ted, That isn't fat; it's insulation against those cold Yukon winters! What a great hunt that looks to have been. Regards, Bill.

I admire your outdoor skills, certainly looks like life on the frontier. I found the picture of you running the rapids in the canoe on Stewart river very interesting. Were you returning from a moose hunt? It reminded me on a series of true adventure stories that the Outdoor Life ran about 45 years ago. Seems there was a young couple (I think his name was Walter) living on the Stewart river and he was a trapper. He disappeared while traveling in a canoe (drowned??) leaving her with two or three little kids. She wrote a book about their adventures and trials in life. As a little shaver, I was fascinated by the story and could not wait until the next month magazine arrived. Your picture in the canoe on the same river made me think of it again...

But the real prize is the lady! No question about that. I have won a few prizes in my life, but she is the best by far! Have a great Christmas, Everyone! Ted

That is a beauty looking rifle 98. Excellent job.
Was wondering what to do with a VZ24 action laying around here--saved the pics...
Great story too, Yukoner--makes this guy want to gets off his ass and go bear hunting.
