Is there a big difference between the cz 452 and the 455? other than the switch barrel aspect.
Thanks

Don't have any 455's, But...
The barrels on the 455's are free floated, the Lux version has a standard rifle rear sight as opposed to the 452===> Lux, trainer and super exclusives very neat tangent (military like) rear sight. Not sure if the 455 Lux has the hogback stock...the 452's do, don't appeal to me at all but they are excellent with irons. The 455's have done away with the milled slot in the bottom of the bolt slot, because of this CZ has added a second action screw at the rear of the trigger guard, of the 452's only the American has two action screws...the other models have a barrel lug screw and a forward action screw. I have put a second action screw on three CZ's and If there was any change in accuracy it was imperceptable. Have not heard that the 455's are any more accurate than the 452's. The 452's are being phased out, if that is an issue with you.
I would buy based on whether or not changing calibers/barrels is important to you. Might add that the 452's barrels are screwed on and quite difficult to remove (with a barrel vise and action wrench), therefore explaining the lack of aftermarket barrels for them.

Thanks Jerry, switching barrels isnt a big thing for me, just wanted to see if the 455 was as accurate as the 452 basically and if quality is good.

My 455 American in 17HMR is really nice. Seamless butt plate to stock line, nice checkering, great wood to metal fit; no complaints here, and it came with a nice hande. I mounted a Leupold VXII 4-12x40AO in Burris Signature rings; a nice fit for the 17HMR. Trips to the range have produced some 1/4" 5 shot 50 yard; it's a consistent 1/2" rifle; what's not to like. I've also added a 22LR barrel since the original purchase. Once I figured out the action torque it liked, they're sensitive, it started shooting 1/2" or better with most of the ammo I've tried. I have no experience with the 452, but I can highly recommend a 455.

I have one of each... A 455 with the .22 LR & .17 HMR barrel and the 452 in .17 mach 2...There's minor differences in the bolt & the 455's barrels are straight tapered. As far as accuracy goes, my 455 with the .17 barrel & the 15.5 gr. NTX is the most accurate factory rifle I've ever owned. IMHO you can't go wrong with either one.

the 455 has a single locking lug instead of the two on the 452/3 models the receiver shape is different too.

I think unless you want one of the models with iron sites there is not going to be a big difference. The fit and finish on the 455 looks a little better but the iron sites on the 452 are definitely better than the new ones on the 455.
