we're having a Muslim Christmas dinner, pork loin with apples, apricots and brandy and I don't know what else in it. baked yams, asparargus, and a few other things.

grandma's home made light rolls, I'd crawl through broken glass for them

got about 30 different bottles of wine to choose from

I've no idea about dessert, but am sure there will be some

I'm pretty certain when we sing our anthem and mention the land of the free, the original intent didn't mean cell phones, food stamps and birth control.

All the kids have too many families/celebrations to go to most of the time. Sooo every once in a while we do this. Our Christmas will be next Friday night, menu will be chili, home-made vegetable soup, and home-made chicken noodle with home made sub sandwiches to go with it. Just gives them something different after so many of the same same.

Going to my cousin's this year, they'll do the traditional turkey and trimmings, and I'm gonna smoke a salmon to bring over.

Christmas "dinner " is an all day long affair at the Out Laws.
My bride bakes cinnamon rolls and we go over early ( 9 or so )
MIL makes 'strada ? an egg casserole . "dinner" is always ham
with every side one can imagine.
But I usually go easy to make room for
PIE!
Folks eat all day as they come and go.
And the adult beverages flow.

We decided on briscuit, but while waiting for a sale, a Kretchmar Spiral Ham came on sale so we opted for it. We had one for Thanksgiving and it was outstanding.

Last summer I did two pork butts. One we ate and one we pulled and froze sealed. We broke it out. Will use the steamer.

Wifey makes a killer mock twice baked potato casserole from left over mashed potatoes. She will mash potatoes today, and add cheese/butter/seasoning tomorrow into baking dish and bake.

Jack Stack's KC pit beans with some of the pulled pork added.

Hot rolls.

Just me, the wife and our two boys (20 & 9).

Christmas Eve - homemade pizzas, Beck's Dark

Christmas - Smoked turkey, ham, dressing, mashed taters, green bean casserole, salad, cranberry sauce, whatever wine I decide on at the time, and for dessert pecan pie & Blue Bell homemade vanilla ice cream, as well as pumpkin pie

Doing Christmas with my wife's family (~25) next weekend - we're taking a bunch of awesome homemade hot tamales (mom of a guy I work with makes and sells 'em).

Spending the weekend in Savannah. I'm sure we'll be able to find a good low country boil, oysters, blue crab and such to help us make it through the next few days...

Honey, brown sugar and ginger snap crusted baked ham, green bean casserole, mash taters, and a few other fixings to round things out.

Sister-in-law had lasagna, Italian peppers and sausage, stuffed Italian peppers, meat balls, slaw, and home made rolls. It was a gastronomical orgasm. For dessert "Almost Heaven" cheese cake.

We roughed it this year. Did a 7-lb rib roast. Using this recipe.... Rib Roast Recipe. It was weird to let the roast sit in the oven for so long but it did work most excellently! I higly recommend it.

Smoked turkey, cornbread dressing, chicken and dumplings, butter beans, squash casserole, pecan pie, and various other desserts. I lost count. I only ate the pecan pie. wasn't room for everything else.
