I have a 39M bought new in the seventies- do not remember what year. I lost the inner mag tube. Every place I turn I am asked if it was made before or after 1975 and I need the serial # It is not visible on the outside. Where on the inside is the ser.#. There is apparently a difference because some of the places I have looked show a difference. I ordered one from lsg mfg and it works ok with long rifles but will not work with shorts. The original one worked great with shorts.
