I am in the process of acquiring a rifle chambered in .416 Howell. I am trying to find out how to form cases for the rifle. I know the cartridge is based on the .404J case. Is it simply a matter of running the .404J case through the .416 Howell sizing die, trimming to 2.500" and then loading and firing to completely form the shoulder? If someone can help me understand the steps that would be great. Thank you in advance.

Look like all the work is in the neck so that's cool. No annealing smile

Not sure on exact math but looks like the 416 neck is a tad smaller but a bit further ahead. Crush fit on the shoulder seems...

Very nice choice....

I have a set of forming dies. I would be glad to let you borrow them. With the form die you just run the 404 Jeff brass into it and trim.
