I could hammer them flat you.
Don't know what you blokes pay for them over there, but I checked new price here at $240.00 per 100, crazy. There is 60 new & 20 once fired cases, I would be happy to work with anyone who can use them. 64 mustang, 70s dodge warlock, has to be a great exchange. LOL

I have always been intrigued by this cartridge and don't know why it never caught on over here but in all of my years of going to gun shops and gun shows the number of rifles I have seen so chambered is exactly zero. Surprising, really.

I've seen a couple of articles about it necked to 6mm but nothing on the parent cartridge. I shoot the rimmed version in a combo gun and it is a great coyote taker. If they brass were reasonably availible it would be a fun cartridge to play with, imagine running a 223AI/6mmTCU reamer in deaper and using 5.6x50 brass(I'm already doing 22-204 and 6mm-204's).

Dude - you hunt coyotes with a boat? How does that fit into your stand/calling sequence?

Actually I do use a boat to hunt coyotes. There is alot of land that can only be accessed by boat like Corp of Engineer land etc. Much of the tidal waterway here are public to the mean high tide line. There is alot of public land that is miles from the closest land access but are only minutes away by a boat doing 20mph. There is alot of public land that is landlock by private land that can be accessed by a river or lake. It opens access to a lot of unhunted coyotes or puts you in a place coyotes think they are safe.
This one I just happenned to be on the way back from a duck hunt. The parking lot here is a great duck hunting spot but frozen so I decided to hunt coyotes here after hearing them earlier in the year duck hunting.
You might want ot look into some of the areas along the Red, Cheyenne, James and Missouri there by you.

Exist in rimmed form, Erich. We can get in Europe but don't know if it's legal to ship directly to US. This caliber was developped with it's non rimmed form to comply some german hunting laws for roe deer which ask for a certain energy of the bullet remaining at a known distance. Don't remember exactly... Dom

I have enough rimmed cases(100) to last a pretty long time this isn't a high volume gun. Huntingtons gets some in every once in awhile. S&B loaded rimmed ammo is availible from one custom ammo place.
Yes necked up to 25 cal it would match 250 Sav factory listed velocities and then some. I built a 25-204 a number of years ago and out of a 22" barrel it will do 2800fps with 100gr Partitions, 3000fps with 85gr Ballistic tips and 3150fps with 75gr HP's a. The 5.6x50 is 3mm longer than the 204 case and both have the same base diameter. I looked into useing the 5.6x50 rimless case when I was developing the 25-204 but it was impossible to get in any quantity reasonably.
johno, I have a name of an Australian writer that worked with the 5.6x50 rimmless case necking it to 6mm. He wrote an article called "Australian Shooter Tests the 6x50" with a sub heading "New wildcat for Kangaroos". His name is Greg Matthews. You might want to try contacting him to find a home for your un-needed brass. I'll see if I can find any more info on him.

Erich, yep I know Greg. I guess like writers everywhere who are well established. They get well looked after by the distributers & importers, what goes around comes around. If you follow my drift.
Thanks for the help fellas
