In the new Marlin catalog they have an asterik next to the .357 model that says, "Consult owners manual for ammunition use". Does anyone know what they mean? I have a .44 Mag. Marlin lever, and it feeds and ejects most everything fine. I'd like to get another in .357, but I want to know if it will feed and eject OK. I've got a ton of .38 Special ammo, and a .357 Marlin would help me use it up. billt.

I have several Marlins. They usually come with a card or notation somewhere in the instructions that suggest COL for handloaders to ensure proper feeding and extraction. If a cartridge is too long or too short for any lever gun it will give problems. Nothing to worry about.
